Norma Jean Heuton, 85, passed away Dec. 6, 2018, at the Assisted Living Windsor Manor in Indianola, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, with burial at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter at 2 p.m. followed by a reception at the Veterans Reception Center at 910 Main St. in Van Meter.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 S.W. Ninth St. in Des Moines. Brooks Funeral Care was in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at iowafuneralplanning.com.

Norma Jean Rudolph was born in Audubon, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Velma (Compton) Rudolph.

Norma attended high school in Coon Rapids.

On April 8, 1951, Norma Jean was united in marriage to Marvin Heuton at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Glidden.

Her passion in life was her husband and her five sons.

During her many moves, she worked as a food specialist and waitress.

Norma Jean was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

She retired in 1995, and she and Marvin became snowbirds to Teaxs.

She enjoyed traveling, camping and loved her family, friends and church.

Norma Jean is survived by sons, Douglas Heuton, Terry Heuton, David Heuton, Curtis (Peggy) Heuton and Eddie (Barb) Heuton; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Cross, Ryan Sharp, Kasey Heuton, Ambrea Smith, Alex Heuton, Heather Heuton, Samantha Heuton and Skyler Heuton; three great-grandchildren, Zoey and Hayden and Scarlett; sister, Cathy Tribble; and brother-in-law, Richard Lansman.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Velma Rudolph; husband, Marvin D. Heuton; and sister, Marge Lansman.

The Heuton family would like to thank you for all the support to our family, from our friends, the caring staff and nurses at the Assisted Living Windsor Manor and Hospice in Indianola.
