STORY CITY, Iowa — Roland-Story completed a season sweep of the Perry boys and girls basketball teams Tuesday, with the Norse claiming a 65-23 win in the girls contest and a 74-32 victory in the boys game.

Ranked 10th in 3A, R-S (12-4, 8-1) held a 15-5 lead after one quarter, then widened the gap to 37-8 at the intermission. Perry (5-10, 2-8) could make no headway in taking the loss, a final which mirrored a 61-24 Norse win Dec. 10.

Jayna Kenney had 12 points, Lydia Olejniczak nine and Caden Steva two to account for the only Jayette points. Kenney had six rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots, with Olejniczak grabbing four caroms. Each sank a 3-point shot.

The Norse boys improved to 14-2 and 9-0 with their victory, which was fueled by a 27-9 first quarter, which turned into a 50-15 halftime lead. The Bluejays (2-13, 0-10) were unable to stay even the rest of the way, with five players entering the scorebook.

Geren Kenney sank three 3-pointers to spark a 12-point effort, with Holden Smith adding eight points. Perry also received four points apiece from Drake Levan, Zander Mahler and Owen Myers.

Perry will host PCM Friday, with the Perry boys entertaining Atlantic in a junior varsity/varsity set Saturday. The JV game will begin at 4:30 p.m.
