The National Weather Service offices in Des Moines has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday for Dallas County and most of western Iowa.
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are developing this afternoon and will continue into tonight. The main threats will be damaging thunderstorm wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
