The Fire Weather Planning Forecast from the National Weather Service office in Des Moines has issued a red flag warning for Saturday from noon until 6 p.m.

Strong wind gusts Saturday afternoon into the evening will combine with low relative humidity, particularly across southwest Iowa, and will lead to dangerous fire conditions.

Should a fire start, there would be rapid fire spread across the Red Flag Warning area. An elevated fire threat exists across all of southern Iowa.

Residents in the Red Flag area are advised to watch outdoor activities. Burning is not advised Saturday.
