The odor of burning electrical wires caused an evacuation Thursday evening at the Kwik Star gas station and convenience store in Perry.

No injuries were reported in the incident at 511 First Ave., which was reported about 6:45 p.m.

Customers could be seen outside the store, waiting to get in.

The Perry Police Department and Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a burning odor in the rear of the store, but an investigation did not locate the source of the odor.

The Perry First Responders and Dallas County EMS also responded.
