Five newly elected Dallas County officeholders swore their oaths of office Wednesday morning in a courtroom of the Dallas County Courthouse.
The swearing-in ceremony lasted about 20 minutes, with Dallas County District Judge Brad McCall administering the oaths to first-term Dallas County Attorney Charles Sinnard, second-term Dallas County Treasurer Mitch Hambleton, third-term Dallas County Recorder Chad Airhart and fifth-term Dallas County Supervisor Brad Golightly.
Fourth-term Dallas County Supervisor Kim Chapman swore his oath as administered by his son, Josh Chapman of Des Moines, chief financial officer at Midwest Ambulance Service and an assistant coach of the Waukee Girls Track and Field team.
Rounding out the Republican regime now installed in all Dallas County elected offices were Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard, Dallas County Auditor Julia Helm and Dallas County Supervisor Mark Hanson, who attended the ceremony along with friends and family of the officeholders and other county government figures.
