Ogden Police Report July 1-7

July 1, 2019

  • Boone County Deputies and and an Ogden Police Department Officer responded to an intrusion alarm at Swanson Drug. Upon arrival, deputies noticed the front window was shattered. The building was cleared, and nobody was found in the building. Upon further inspection, the owner could find nothing missing. This appears to be a criminal mischief.
  • Officers responded to an intrusion alarm at Ogden Middle School. This was set off by construction workers.
  • An officer returned a cell phone to an Ogden resident.
  • An officer investigated a two-vehicle accident at S. First Street and Veterans Drive. Brandon Cheville, 46, of Ogden was driving a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer and pulled away from a stop sign on Veterans Drive in front of a 2008 Dodge Caravan, driven by Sasha Belieu, 29, of Ogden. Damage to Cheville’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000, and damage to Belieu’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000. Cheville was arrested for allegedly driving while barred and issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign. The owner of Cheville’s vehicle, Shanna Murphy, will be issued a citation for failure to provide security against liability. Belieu was issued a citation for failure to provide security against liability.

July 3, 2019

  • Steve McCoy reported his neighbor’s dog charged at him while he was in his yard.
  • An officer spoke with Ogden resident in reference to junk on his property.
  • An officer assisted the Ogden First Responders, Boone County Ambulance and a Boone County Deputy.
  • An officer spoke with the owner of a property regarding low-hanging branches blocking the view of drivers backing onto street.
  • An officer received a complaint of a possible domestic situation. There was nobody home when the officer arrived. The officer was able to make contact with a female, and she denied any issues.
  • Ogden officers assisted a Boone County Deputy with a two-vehicle accident in the 1200 block of H Avenue.
  • An officer received a complaint from an Ogden resident about water in his basement. The officer notified the sewer superintendent.
  • An officer received a complaint of a sewer backing up in an Ogden residence. The officer notified the sewer superintendent.
  • An officer was called to an Ogden residence for a male juvenile who was out of control.
  • An officer received a complaint about water in a basement. The officer notified sewer superintendent.
  • An officer received a complaint about a sewer backing up into basement. The officer notified the sewer superintendent.

July 4, 2019

  • An Ogden officer assisted a resident with water in her basement.
  • An officer received a complaint about a safety hazard at N.W. Seventh Street railroad crossing. The cement pads in the middle of tracks had separated, and a car tire or motorcycle/bike tire could fall in the space. The officer blocked off the northbound lane of N.W. Seventh Street at the railroad crossing and notified the Union Pacific Railroad.
  • An officer assisted the Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.
  • An officer assisted a person locked out of vehicle.
  • An officer assisted a Boone County Deputy on a traffic stop.

July 5, 2019

  • A Boone County Deputy responded to a complaint about someone lighting fireworks in the 300 block of S.E. Fourth Street.
  • A Boone County Deputy responded to a complaint about someone lighting fireworks in the 400 block of S.E. Second Street. The deputy spoke with a male lighting the fireworks and advised him to stop.
  • A Boone County Deputy responded to a complaint about juveniles throwing balls against the south car wash walls and making noise. The deputy was unable to locate any juveniles in the area.
  • A Boone County Deputy responded to a complaint about someone lighting fireworks in the 200 block of S.W. Seventh Street. The deputy spoke with someone and advised the person to stop.

July 6, 2019

  • A Boone County Deputy discovered an open door on a building. The deputy notified the owner of the building, and he came and checked the building. There did not appear to be anything missing, so the owner secured the building.
  • An officer received a report about a juvenile female walking down the traveled portion of the road in the 800 block of N. First Street. The officer went to 822 N. First St. and spoke with the little girl, who had made it home. The child’s elder sister was watching her, and the little girl had left without her knowledge. The officer notified the mother.
  • An officer cited and released Aimee Alderman, 42, of Jefferson for driving while license suspended.

July 7, 2019

  • An officer assisted the Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
