Perry right fielder Rachel Kinney makes a running catch as second baseman Sid Vancil looks on during their RRC tilt with Carroll Wednesday.

Junior Emma Olejniczak limited visiting Carroll to one hit and two walks while striking out 13 to help Perry post a 3-0 win in Raccoon River Conference softball Wednesday.

Karlee Jones stroked  a two-out double in the top of the fourth for the only Tiger hit, with Olejniczak working around a pair of walks in the fifth while facing just three batters over the minimum.

Perry (3-2, 1-1) had runners on base in the first and second innings but failed to score. The hosts finally broke through in the fourth when an infield hit from Alyssa Kruger and a single from Rachel Kinney put two runners aboard.

A double-steal moved each Jayette up a base, with Victoria Hegstrom lifting a sacrifice fly to center field that allowed Kruger to trot home for a 1-0 Perry lead.

Olejniczak stroked a one-out double in the sixth, with Kruger belting an opposite field two-run home run that sailed far out of the park in right-center. Kinney reached on an error and Hegstrom singled, but a pop out and a strikeout ended the rally.

The fifth 1-2-3 inning from Olejniczak ended the game as Perry moved to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in RRC action.

Perry hosts No. 12 Boone Thursday before hosting the Paul and Mary Ann Graves Tournament at the PAC Saturday.
