Perry sophomore shortstop Lydia Olejniczak has been selected by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association for inclusion on their Class 4A All-District West team.
Olejniczak led the team in hitting with a .429 average and also posted the team-high in on-base percentage (.485) and slugging percentage (.626). Her 39 hits were a team-best, as were her 26 runs.
The sophomore slugger drove in 11 runs from her spot atop the Jayette lineup. She recorded 28 singles, six doubles, three triples, and two home runs.
A threat on the bases, Olejniczak was safe on 30-of-31 stolen base attempts.
Perry finished 8-25 overall and 1-17 in Raccoon River Conference play under head coach Tina Lutterman. The team will join Greene County, Nevada, PCM, Roland-Story, Saydel, South Hamilton, and West Marshall in the Heart of Iowa Conference next summer.
