One person was injured when a car and truck collided at the entrance of Lake Robbins Ballroom Sunday evening.

One person was injured when a car and truck collided at the entrance of Lake Robbins Ballroom Sunday evening.

The incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. in the 26700 block of 150th Street in rural Woodward.

The circumstances of the accident are under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and Dallas County Sheriff’s office.

It appeared the car was exiting the Lake Robbins parking lot and entering 150th Street eastward when it was struck by the pickup traveling eastbound on 150th Street. The truck swerved but did not successfully avoid striking the car, which came to rest in the south ditch, with significant damage to front driver-side quarter.

The pickup came to rest in the north ditch, having lost its front passenger-side wheel and sustaining damage to the front passenger-side quarter.

Airbags deployed in the car, and extrication of the driver of the car was required. The victim was transported to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines by the Dallas County EMS.

The Woodward First Responders and Woodward Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
