With only one-win Carroll standing between the 11-2 Perry boys and the sole claim to the Raccoon River Conference crown, there was little chance of an earth-shaking upset at Dewey Field Thursday.
Three first-half goals all but sealed the deal, with the Bluejays ending their undefeated run through the conference with an 11-1 victory.
The only surprise of the contest was the goal scored by the Tigers (2-12, 0-4), who became only the fourth team to score in regulation against the Bluejays (12-2, 7-0) this season.
Ivan Garcia scored three times to record a hat trick for the Jays, with David Cardenas and Javier Miranda adding two scores apiece. Oscar Chavez, Cameron Martinez, Jesus Rodriguez and Alvaro Soto also scored for the hosts.
Rodriguez finished with four assists and Garcia and Soto with two apiece while Cardenas, Chavez, German Alvarenga and Chance Webster each notched an assist.
Perry hosts Des Moines Lincoln Monday, visits Pella Thursday and makes a trip to Indianola May 22 to conclude their regular season.
