Panorama will look to get back on track Friday when they travel to Ogden. The Panthers fell, 35-6, at No. 5 Madrid last Friday.

LAST YEAR — Panorama scored a 49-27 win in Johnston despite being outgained, 465-339, with the Lions passing for 266 yards. The Panthers rushed for 237 yards and five touchdowns, with Gabe Richey also returning a kick 91 yards for a score while Levi Leiferman pulled in a 13-yard TD pass. DMC’s Nathan Herbers was 12-of-21 for 266 yards and two TDs in the air but was intercepted four times. Sam Bruxvoort had four tackles for loss for the hosts.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS — Panorama was 9-2 last year, falling in the second round of the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Matt Webner is the top returning rusher, having gained 236 yards on 25 carries while scoring twice. He had eight receptions for 71 yards and a score out of the backfield.

First team All-State defensive back Leiferman is out for tonight’s game but is the top returning receiver with 36 snags for 536 yards and four TDs.

The Panthers will turn to freshman Luke South at quarterback, with new faces in other places as well, especially up front, as the temporary loss of Dalton Bennett to an injury has caused 25-year head coach Lyle Alumbaugh to reshuffle both the offensive and defensive lines.

Linebacker Gunnar Grunstad is the top returning tackler with 39.5 stops last season.

ABOUT THE LIONS — DMC was 4-5 in the regular season but slipped into the playoffs, where they fell to Madrid, 58-6, in the first round.

Herbers returns after passing for 1,352 yards and 20 scores. He was 74-of-165 and was intercepted 11 times. He also ran for two TDs and 230 yards on 79 carries and is the top returning rusher.

Matt Brightman and Sam Bruxvoort are the top receivers back this season. The former has 11 catches for 209 yards and a score and the latter 126 yards and two TDs on seven snags.

Carter Patterson had 72 tackles and Bruxvoort 42.5 and are the lead tacklers returning. DMC recovered seven fumbles and intercepted 14 passes in 2015.
