PANORA, Iowa — The Panorama girls basketball team, now ranked 15th in Class 2A, came out strong on Friday night against West Central Valley, coming away with the 52-18 win.

Kaitlin Kent led the Panthers in scoring with 10 points.

“We have had a different leading scorer each game and that is a testament to the style we want to play,” Coach Boettcher said. “It all depends on our matchups and who has the open looks to the hoop.”

The Panthers traveled on Tuesday for their first road game to Interstate-35 in Truro, coming away with a solid 60-32 victory.

The Panthers opened an early lead in the first quarter, putting down 19 points and holding the Roadrunners to single digits in the first half.

Tyme Boettcher led Panther scoring with 18 points, and Mia Waddle chimed in with 14, with other Panthers adding to the board as well.

Coach Boettcher noted that Truro was the longest road trip this year, and “we have enjoyed our home game stretch this season,” the coach said, “but the girls are excited to get on the road and bring the fans with us.”

In Panorama boys action, the WCV Wildcats fell to the Panthers 73-58 Friday night. The Panthers led 42-26 at halftime and came out just as strong in the second half.

Braylon Dawes scored 29 points, and Braedon Draper added 18. Both teams had foul trouble, but it did not stop the strong defense and smart offensive play.

On Tuesday night, the Panther boys got into foul trouble early and trailed Interstate-35 by 5 points at the half. The Panthers outscored the Roadrunners in the second half but were outdistanced in the end by a score of 58-55.

The Panther boys and girls will travel to Guthrie on Friday night to face the ACGC Chargers.
