PANORA — Wins of 60-40 in the girls game and of 56-20 in the boys meeting carried Panorama to a season sweep over visiting AC/GC in WCAC action Friday.

The two teams had previously met, in Guthrie Center, Dec. 20, with the Panther girls winning, 52-48, with the visiting boys an 81-66 victor.

Panorama (12-2, 8-1) had little trouble in stretching their winning streak to 12 games in the girls contest, with a big first half pushing the Panther boys (9-5, 7-3) to an easy win.

AC/GC (8-6, 7-3) fell into a 9-3 hole after one period of the girls game, with the Chargers facing a 20-8 halftime hole.

Panorama outscored their guests, 22-17, in the third quarter to open a 42-25 gap and never looked back. The Panthers limited their guests to only three field goals in the first half, then were able to get out and run off of defensive rebounds in the second half, scoring repeatedly on the break.

Payton Beckman and Laci Rishel had 18 points apiece for Panorama, with Ella Waddle, Angel Poldberg and Shey Storesund scoring seven points apiece. Anna Holloway’s two points and a free throw from Gabby Welberg capped the scoring.

Poldberg had 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals, with Beckman grabbing five boards and making three assists and two steals while Rishel contributed three assists and three thefts. The trio each hit one 3-pointer, with Waddle and Storesund also making a trey.

Panorama waltzed to a win in the second game, leading 22-2 after eight minutes and holding a somewhat shocking 35-4 advantage at the break. The score stood at 49-10 after 24 minutes of play, leading to the final margin.

Zach Rizzuti sank six 3-pointers to lead Panorama with 18 points, with four treys from Malachi Peasley fueling his 14 points. Kolby Shackelford had six points, Drew Taylor and Trent Hambleton four each, Wil Jones and Michael Allen three apiece and Jared Wasson and Evan Taylor two each to finish the Panther scoring tab.

Peasley aided the winning cause with six rebounds, seven assists and two steals, with Allen pulling down 11 boards.

Statistical information from the AC/GC boys was not available.

Panorama plays on the road twice next week, with a visit to West Central Valley set for Tuesday and a trip to Earlham on tap for Friday.
