PANORA — Lake Panorama National served as the site of a WCAC coed quadrangular Monday, with the Panorama boys winning easily while the host girls were second.

The meet came two after the Panorama boys squeaked out a three-stroke victory at the 18-hole CAM Invite at Crestwood Hills in Anita.

On Monday the Panther boys moved to 13-0 for the season with a score of 176. Ogden was second at 193, with Van Meter (196) and AC/GC (229) also in action.

Kolby Shackelford had a card of 39, Ryan Klinge of 43, Dylan Douglass of 46 and Trey Cobb of 48 to spark the hosts. Wyatt Appleseth (49) and Lucas Leiferman (50) were also in action for the home team.

The Panorama girls were in action Monday, shooting a 256. Van Meter won with a 218, with Ogden carding a 262 while AC/GC had only two players in action.

“It was a rough night for golf,” Panorama girls coach Melissa Hochstetler said. “The weather was nice, but the fact we have had so much bad weather and little practice showed. I am really proud of our girls. They all kept playing and finished the round. We have a lot of work to do, but we have tons of potential. We are looking forward to next week.”

Alex Kurtz had a 55 to lead the hosts, with Abby Cobb shooting 57. Gabby Welberg had a 71 and Amanada Holwegner a 73, with the two rounds of 84 — recorded by Gracie Phillips and Hailey Meacham — not used for the team total.

London Wille (43), Kylie Carey (49), Shae Berenhardt (56) and Lindsey Golwitzer (70) were the four scorers for Van Meter, wtih Daylynn Coppinger also making the circuit.

Ogden received scoring cards from Faith Mohr (61), Shalyie Johannsen (62), Emma Blair (66) and Emalee Walker (73). Libby Sonehocker (75) and Kaylee Delp (81) were also on the course for the Bulldogs.

Kena Baier and Jessica Stringer played for AC/GC, providing rounds of 57 and of 69, respectively.

Panorama’s boys edged Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton, 323-326, for top honors Saturday. Riverside was third at 346, with Bedford (366), Audubon (374) and CAM (378) completing the field.

Shackelford led the way with a 76, with Appleseth providing an 81, Cobb an 82 and Klinge an 84. Leiferman (88) and Douglass (92) were also on the course for the Panthers.

Panorama’s junior varsity shot a 405, with East Mills and Southwest Valley also sending their JV squads to Anita, but not having the four players needed for a team score.

Evan Taylor had a 90, Connor Powell a 99, Tate Willey a 100 and Bli Wearmouth a 107 for the Panther JV. Nathan Wolfe’s 109 and Ethan Hafner’s 119 were not used for the team total.

The Panorama boys will play at the 18-hole Des Moines Christian Invite at Jester Park Thursday, with the girls squad at Bondurant Monday.
