PANORA — East Union, Martensdale-St. Marys, and Southwest Valley were guests of the Panorama wrestling team for a quadrangular Thursday.
The hosts won twice, defeating East Union, 54-10, and SW Valley, 54-24, with a 42-35 loss to M-SM between the victories. M-SM topped SW Valley, 48-36, and East Union, 48-30, with SW Valley a 48-30 winner over East Union in the other duals.
Four Panthers were 3-0 in their matches, with Logan Christe (120 pounds), Emry Colby (145), Wyatt Appleseth (152) and Cooper Anderson (182) all finishing with unblemished marks.
Appleseth and Anderson each won twice by pin and once by forfeit, with Christe winning by decision, pin and forfeit while Colby twice received forfeits before winning his final match on injury/time limit.
Dillon Bennett (170) was 2-1 with a pair of pins and Landon Goodenberger (160) 2-1 with a decision and a pin. Four others — Brayden Hoffman (126), Kael Wirt (132), Ryan Fees (138) and James Hein (220) were also 2-1 — with the quartet each winning once by pin and once by forfeit.
Keyton Van Gundy was 1-2 with a win via forfeit at 195 pounds for the hosts, with Jaime Thorpe 0-3 at 106. Panorama left the 113 and 285 pound divisions uncontested.
Panorama returns to action Thursday when they join Interstate-35 and Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas for a triangular at Van Meter. The team will then travel to Corning Jan. 25 for the Southwest Valley Invitational.
