PANORA — Class 3A No. 10 Panorama was a 72-40 winner over Madrid in WCAC girls cage play Tuesday, with the Panther boys rolling to a 74-44 victory in the nightcap.
Panorama (10-3, 6-1) was out fast, turning a 21-6 first quarter lead into a 52-23 halftime advantage en route to the win in the opener. Madrid fell to 2-11 and 1-4 with the loss.
Payton Beckman had 20 points to lead the hosts, with Grace Webner and Ella Waddle having nine points apiece and Laci Rishel eight. Tyme Boettcher hit for seven points, Angel Poldberg and Jaidyn Sellers for six points apiece, and Shey Storesund three. Mia Waddle and Zoey Hambleton each had two points for the hosts.
Rishel cleared eight rebounds and had four steals, with Beckman making four steals and handing out four assists.
Josie Springer led Madrid with 13 points, with Macy Gibbons scoring eight points and Macy Gibbons eight. Erin Schieltz provided seven points, Addy Dean five, and Claire Knudson three.
A 32-17 advantage at the intermission was more than enough for the Panther boys, who widened their lead to 53-29 after a 21-12 edge in the third frame.
Panorama improved to 11-1, 7-1 while Madrid dropped to 4-8, 2-7.
Ryan Klinge led the home team with 18 points, with Dominic Walker and Brice Taylor contributing 14 points apiece. Zach Rizzuti tallied eight points while Drew Taylor and Jack Weinkoetz both had five points. Four points from Preston Walker and three each from Levi Poldberg and Jared Wasson capped the Panther attack.
