Panorama track teams compete at final indoor meet

LAMONI — The Panorama girls were easy winners Friday, with the Panther boys placing third, at the Jenner Indoor meet. The Panther girls competed in 12 of 13 events and scored 113 points, with Perry second in the 14-team field at 44 while the Panorama boys were third among 11 teams after participating in 12 of 13 events offered.

Underwood was first in the boys field with 89 points, with Central Decatur second at 60 and Panorama third at 55, with Perry eighth at 22.

Spencer Hunt won both the 55-meter dash and the 200 with times of 6.74 and 24.02 seconds, with Gracen Welberg third in the 55 hurdles in 8.61.

Kevin Cogil was sixth in the 1600 in five minutes, 25.04 seconds and was 12th in the 800 in 2:27.45 while Allias Stahl crossed 16th in the 400 at 1:02.67.

Panorama won the distance medley relay in 4:09.94 and placed second in the 4×400 in 3:51.47 while finishing seventh in the 4×200 in 1:53.19. Panther relay names were not available.

Welberg cleared 6 feet, two inches for second in the high jump, with Zach Rizzuti seventh in the long jump with a flight of 19’2-3/4. Koltin Sloss provided fifth-place points in the shot put by shoving the orb 40’4.

The Panther girls scored well in the field events, with Lydia Knapp (33’6) first and Claire Woodworth (30’6) fifth in the shot put. Morgan Johnk sailed over the bar at 5’2 to win the high jump, with Bailey Beckman and Kassidy Bremer 1-2 in the long jump at 16’8-3/4 and 16’6-3/4.

Panorama ran two teams in the 4×200, placing first (1:57.7) and fifth (2:05.1). The 4×400 was fourth (4:52.37), the 4×800 fifth (12:15.71) and the distance medley sixth (5:01.41). Relay team names were not provided.

Ella Waddle won both the 800 (2:35.74) and the 1500 (5:16.98) with Johnk the victor of the 55 hurdles in 9.14 ticks.

Beckman was second and Johnk third, in 28.29 and 28.6, in the 200, with Bremer and Beckman 2-5 in the 55 dash in 7.78 and 7.96 seconds.

Panorama will compete Tuesday at the Earlham Earlybird, then visit the Davis Relays in Perry Thursday.
