Panorama volleyball flattens visiting Interstate-35

PANORA — A WCAC showdown between visiting Interstate-35 and Panorama opened the volleyball season for both schools Tuesday.

Panorama was in control throughout, winning 3-0 on set scores of 25-10, 25-11 and 25-15.

Jaidyn Sellers led the hosts with nine kills, with Shey Storesund making eight kills, Grace Webner three, Audrey Cmelik two and Angel Poldberg one, with Grace Richey making 13 assists, Emma Powell seven assists and Storesund one.

Sellers had four blocks and Poldberg three, with Cmelik and Richey making two assists apiece and Webner and Storesund one each. Powell came up with five digs, Paige Cmelik and Brix Gymer four digs apiece and Storesund three.

Paige Cmelik served 15-of-17 with five aces and Powell 12-of-14 with one ace while Richey was 10-11-2 and Sellers 8-11-1. Audrey Cmelik was 8-of-10 behind the line, with Storesund rounding out a strong overall effort at 6-of-8.

Panorama is at Earlham Thursday. They host Ogden Tuesday and then will compete in the Coon Rapids-Bayard tourney Sept. 5.
