LIBERTY CENTER — Class 1A No. 10 Interstate-35 posted a 40-26 win over Panorama in the third dual Thursday for the Panthers, who had already collected two wins before the setback.
Panorama opened competition with a 40-33 win over a solid Van Meter/Earlham team, then posted an easy, 61-10, victory over an undermanned host Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas squad.
Class 1A sixth-ranked 170-pounder Gunnar Grunsted was one of five Panthers to collect three individual victories. He won by pin, decision and forfeit, with Trevor Carey (182 pounds) winning two pins and a decision while Dalton Holmes (195) scored a decision and received a pair of forfeits.
Danny Nordquist won three times at 126, with his arm raised for a technical fall, a major decision and a forfeit while Wyatt Appleseth (132) tallied two pinfall victories and one win by tech fall.
Noah Kirtley (138) had a pin and received a forfeit in finishing 2-1, the same fashion in which Brady Howard (220) claimed his two wins against one loss.
Garret Fox (160) was 1-2 with a pin, Emry Colby (145) 1-2 with a tech fall, with Logan Christe (106), Kaleb Stogdill (152) and Dan Jensen (285) all 1-2 with each win via forfeit.
Panorama left the 113-pound class open, with Wyatt Clark wrestling once at 120 but dropping his match due to injury.
Panorama will compete at 4 p.m. today and again at 9 a.m. Saturday in the John J. Harris 24-team tournament at Southwest Valley in Corning.
