PANORA — Senior Devyn Kemble has been a standout athlete throughout her prep career at Panorama. On Thursday, Kemble made her collegiate choice official, signing a NAIA Letter of Intent to continue both her basketball and track careers at Northwestern College.
The Red Raiders, a member of the 10-team Great Plains Athletic Conference — other Iowa schools include Morningside, Briar Cliff and Dordt College — were 20-12 overall last season on the court and 10-10 in GPAC play. They were one of 32 teams selected to play in the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
Kemble averaged 14 points and five rebounds a game for the 22-2 Panthers last season. She enters her final season having helped the team to a 60-11 overall mark and has 699 career points and 267 career rebounds. She is 79-of-208 (38 percent) beyond the 3-point arc and has drained 152-of-187 (81 percent) of her free throws.
Last season she ran at the state track meet on the sprint medley and 4×400 relay teams. She placed fourth in the 400 and was 10th in the 800.
Although not to run cross country in Orange City, Kemble has also excelled as a harrier, appearing four times at the state meet. She was 31st overall — and the 11th scorer in 1A — at the state meet Oct. 28 to help the Panthers finish in second place.
