Panorama state champion Kolby Shackelford has accepted an invitation to play in the High School National Tournament at Walt Disney World Resorts June 27-28.

PLEASANTVILLE — Junior standout Kolby Shackelford fired a one-under par 34 to seize medalist honors at a WCAC boys golf triangular Tuesday.

Shackelford’s overall low round helped lead Panorama to a team victory with 155 strokes. Van Meter shot a combined 162, with Pleasantville a stroke back at 163. The win lifts Panorama to 18-1 for the season.

Trey Cobb shot a 37 for the victorious Panthers, with Dylan Douglass and Lucas Leiferman each providing rounds of 42. Wyatt Appleseth had a 45 and Evan Taylor a 47, neither of which was used for the team total.

“I was extremely pleased with the play of Trey and Dylan today as both had been struggling with certain aspects of their short game,” Panorama head coach David Vanahn said. “I was also please with the sophomore Evan Taylor, who was playing in his first varsity meet as a replacement for Ryan Klinge, who was ill.”

Panorama returns to action Thursday when they host Ballard, with the team to host the Hal Rossow Invitational Saturday.
