PANORA, Iowa — The Panthers girls played a makeup game with Greene County on Monday night and came out with a win, 69-23, extending their streak to 3-0.

Two of the Panthers scored in double digits: Mia Waddle led the team with 18 and Jaidyn Sellers with 13.

“We had many contribute offensively due to our unselfish and smart passing,” said Coach Boettcher. “It takes more than just a couple players to make the game, it takes a team. The entire game was played solid with aggressive defense.”

On Tuesday the Panther girls extended their streak to 4-0 when they defeated Earlham, ranked 13th in class 1A, with a score of 46-42.

The Panthers took control early and held the lead until late in the third quarter, when the Rams tied the score at 30-30.

Coach Boettcher said that ”foul trouble disrupted the game flow,” but the Panthers were able to pull out the win.

Jaidyn Sellers had 20 points for the Panthers, with Mia Waddles adding 10 and many other Panthers contributing as well.

In boys action Monday, the Panthers came into their game against Greene County with fire, and they kept that momentum going throughout the game.

The Panthers were down at halftime 31-29 but surged in the second half for a 70-66 victory.

Maddox Hammerstrom was on fire with 5 3-pointers beyond the arch. Freshman A. J. Draper helped out by controlling the boards and points in the paint.

Other Panthers contributed as well in the paint and beyond the arch, with Braedon Draper, Braylon Dawes, Eli Hammerstrom, Klayton Bremer, Jacob Walker and Brayden Galvin all in the single digits.

Free-throws became crucial toward the end of the game, and the Panthers made it happen.

The Panthers brought their record to 2-2 Tuesday with a 58-48 win against the Earlham Cardinals at home.

Three Panthers scored in double digits: Braylon Dawes, Maddox Hammerstrom and Braedon Draper, and others contributed with single digits.

The Panthers play again Friday at home against West Central Valley
