Panther girls, boys end home season with twin wins Tuesday

PANORA, Iowa — The eighth-ranked Panorama Panthers girls basketball team hosted their final home game Tuesday night against the Woodward-Granger Hawks, and the Panthers pulled out the win 62-39 on Senior Night.

“The energy was there from the tip,” Coach Boettcher said. “The team wanting to send the seniors out with a win, and they did just that.”

Jaidyn Sellers lead the team in scoring with 27.

The Panthers next game is Friday at Des Moines Christian, and the last regular-season game will be Monday, Feb. 6 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, where the Panthers will take on Ogden.

Class 2A Region 7 pairings for the Panther girls are as follows:

  • Feb. 11 – Bye
  • Feb. 14 at Panorama versus West Central Valley or Woodward-Granger
  • Feb. 17 – Round 3
  • Feb. 22 – Regional Final

The Panther boys were also victorious Tuesday over the Woodward-Granger Hawks, closing out the regular season at home with a 72-56 win.

Junior Maddox Hammerstrom recorded a triple double with 15 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds.
