TREYNOR — Despite leaving six of 14 weight classes uncontested the Panorama wrestlers managed a second-place finish Saturday at the Treynor Invitational.

The host Cardinals won with 171 points, with the Panthers second at 157.5 while East Mills was third in the 11-team field with 151 points.

Panorama did not have an entrant at 106, 113, 126, 132, 138 or 285 pounds but still produced two champions and one other finalist.

Logan Christe improved to 6-0 on the season at 120 and remains unscored upon as he cruised to a title with three wins by pin.

Wyatt Appleseth used two pins to finish 2-0 and claim the top spot at 160, with Emry Colby 2-1 with a pin and a technical fall to earn second place at 145 pounds.

Ryan Fees (152) and James Hein (220) were both 3-1, with both scoring three wins by fall, as each placed third in their respective weight class. Placing fourth were Landon Goodenberger (170) and Keyton VanGundy (195). Both were 2-2, with the former winning with two pins and the later with a pin and an injury default.

Dillon Bennett had three pins to his credit in finishing fifth at 182 with a mark of 3-2 to cap the Panther scoring sheet.

Kael Wirt (145), Josh Sparks (170), Jacob Walker (182) and Jayden Howard (195) were all also in action for Panorama, but all bowed out after each suffered consecutive losses to open their bracket.

Panorama will compete at Van Meter Tuesday before joining a large field Friday in the Central Decatur Invitational.
