CORNING — Panorama had seven wrestlers in action at the two-day John J. Harris Invitational Friday and Saturday. The 22-team event held all action for weights 106-145 pounds Friday, with the 152-285 matmen in action Saturday.

Second-ranked Wyatt Appleseth (33-0) was the champion at 160 pounds. He pinned each of his first three opponents, then claimed the crown with an 18-3 technical fall in 5 minutes, 1 second against Kael Forsyth (23-7) of Winterset.

Cooper Andersen (28-2) was the only other placer for the Panthers after finishing third at 220 pounds. He recorded a pin, but then lost by fall to Jake Smith (23-2) of Clarke. Andersen responded with two more pins, then avenged his earlier loss by putting Smith’s shoulders to the mat in 5:30.

Landon Goodenberger (14-13 at 170)  was 1-2 for the Panthers. He trailed host Southwest Valley’s Bradlee Grantz (9-10) 9-0 in his opening match before rallying to pin his foe.

Cayden Van Meer (13-16 at 138), Ryan Fees (16-14 at 145), and Jared Henderson (15-15 at 285) all dropped their only matches at the event.
