TREYNOR — Five Panthers wrestlers reached the finals of their weight class Saturday at the Treynor tourney, helping lift Panorama to third place in the 13-team event.

Underwood scored 269.5 points to claim the team crown with the hosts second at 186.5 while Panorama was third at 164 points.

Panorama 170-pounder Garrett Fox was the sole Panther champion, winning his division with a pair of pins.

Wyatt Appleseth was 2-1 with two pins in finishing second at 145, with Logan Christie 2-1 and second at 113 with a pin and a decision while Hunter Holmes was 3-1 and second at 285 after posting two wins via pin and one by decision. Josh VanWinkle (132) and Landon Goodenberger (152) were each 1-2 with a pin while Matthew Greenlee (285) dropped both of his matches. None of three were able to place but earned valuable experience by simply by competing.

Panorama visits West Central Valley Tuesday before competing in the Central Decatur Invite Friday.

Panorama’s Emry Colby finished third at 152 pounds with a 4-1 record. Colby lost a 9-7 decision in his first match, but responded strongly to win four consecutive bouts, each by pinfall, to secure third place. His effort was inadvertently missing from the original posting.
