Panther matmen win one of three at quadrangular

PANORA — Mt. Ayr, Van Meter/Earlham, and West Central Valley were the guests of the Panorama wrestlers Tuesday, with the hosts winning one of their three duals.

Panorama topped WCV, 39-30, but fell, 48-30, to Mt. Ayr and by a 45-35 margin to VM/E. Mt. Ayr bested WCV, 43-28, and VM/E defeated Mt. Ayr, 39-30, with no score reported from the VM/E vs WCV match.

Senior Wyatt Appleseth, ranked second at 160 pounds in 2A, was 3-0 with two wins by pin and with a technical fall. Cooper Andersen was 3-0 with a trio of pins at 220, with Jared Henderson 3-0 with a pin and two forfeits at 285. while Logan Christe scored two pins at 126 and one at 132 to also finish 3-0 for the hosts.

Ryan Fees won by pin and with a 9-3 decision to finish 2-1 at 152, with Landon Goodenberger 2-1 with a pin and a forfeit at 170.

Colby Waltz received two forfeits to finish 2-1 at 195, with Maddox Nunn unable to collect a win in three matches at 113.

Panorama returns to action Friday at 3:30 p.m. when they compete in the Central Decatur Invitational.
