Panther netters bounced in first round

DES MOINES — The Panorama volleyball team was eliminated from postseason play after suffering a 3-0 loss to Des Moines Christian Monday.

The Lions (24-13) were 3-0 winners in the Class 3A Region 3 contest, topping the Panthers (6-12) by scores of 2514, 25-9, and 25-16.

Jordan Douglass had three kills, Jaidyn Sellers two and Grace Richery and Grace Webner one each for Panorama, with Richey providing six assists and Emma Powell three.

Sellers had two blocks at the net, with Douglass, Richey, Angel Poldberg, and Shey Storesund each credited with an assisted block. Storesund made six digs, Paige Cmelik four and Powell two, with Douglass also having a dig.

Douglass was 6-of-6 with an ace while serving, with Sellers 2-3-1. Powell was 9-of-10, Storesund 4-of-4, Richey and Paige Cmelik both 3-of-5, Audrey Cmelik 3-of-4 and Webner 1-of-3.

Douglass, Powell, Richey, Storesund, Brix Gymer, Audrey Cmelik, Paige Cmelik, and Cassidy Hoehne were seniors for the Panthers this season.
