PANORA — Panorama raced to a 6-0 lead after four innings and then hold for a 6-5 win over visiting Madrid in WCAC softball Thursday. The win follows a 12-0 season-opening loss to Des Moines Christian in four innings Tuesday.[wpedon id=”82220″ align=”center”]

Kellie Prince scored twice, knocked in a run and had two singles and a double for the victorious Panthers Thursday, with Claire Woodworth adding a single, double, RBI, and two runs scored.

Shey Storesund aided the cause with two hits, a run and a RBI, with Grace Richey also recording two hits. Kennedy Andersen had two RBIs and a single, Vallerie Storesund singled and scored and Lydia Knapp singled and drove home a run to round out the Panorama attack.

Olivia Richey was the winner from the ring, allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits over seven frames. He struck out 10 and issued one walk.

Olivia Richey was the tough-luck starter Tuesday against a powerful DMC lineup, which dinged the first Panther hurler they saw form seven runs (five earned) on two hits and five walks over two innings.

Grace Richey yielded three unearned runs on two hits and a walk in two frames, with Knapp recording one out while allowing two runs on two hits and two walks. Olivia Richey and Knapp each had one strikeout.

Maren Judisch fanned seven Panthers in tossing the four-inning no-hitter.

Panorama returns to action Tuesday with a trip to Ogden, with Van Meter visiting Panora Thursday.
