EARLHAM — The Panorama volleyball team broke open a 1-1 match with consecutive wins to claim a 3-1 victory over Earlham in WCAC play Thursday.
The Panthers (2-0, 2-0) were 27-25 victors in game one before dropping a 25-12 second game. The guests rallied for a 25-20 game three triumph, then closed out the match with a 25-18 win in game four.
Strong serving set the tone for the visitors, as Panorama finished a combined 83-of-89 (93 percent) with a total of 11 aces.
Kennedy Kuta was 18-of-19 with four aces, with Morgan Johnk 19-21-3, Hannah Woodworth 14-14-1 and Erica Block 11-11-2. Olivia Richey was 8-9-1 behind the line, with Brooke Halterman 13-of-15.
Halterman had 13 kills, seven digs and 1.5 blocks, with Johnk providing nine kills and seven digs and Richey three kills, seven digs and an assist. Kuta had 20 assists and six digs, Bailey Beckman three assists, Block seven digs and Woodworth five digs. Johnk helped the cause with one block, with Block adding a block assist.
Panorama returns to action Tuesday with a visit from WCAC foe Ogden.
