GUTHRIE CENTER — Panorama was one of 16 teams wrestling Saturday at the Charger Invitational, with a 10-member Panther roster placing eighth in the overall standings.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows ran off with the team title at 243 points, with Woodward-Granger second at 180 and Southeast Valley third at 157. Panorama finished with 104 points despite leaving the 106, 120, 132, and 152 pound weight classes uncontested.
Second-ranked Wyatt Appleseth improved to 39-0 with a 4-0 mark at 160 pounds. He won the bracket with three pins and a 13-1 major decision over Dustin Harney (36-6) of W-G.
Cooper Andersen (34-2) was the champion at 220, winning all three of his matches by fall in claiming the top spot.
Logan Christe (25-5) reached a personal milestone en route to placing third at 126. He was 3-1 with a pin, a 14-5 major decision, and a 12-9 decision, and along the way collected his 100th career victory.
Cayden Van Meer (17-18) was 3-1 with two pins and an 8-2 decision in placing seventh at 138 pounds, with Landon Goodenberger (18-16) 3-2 with a trio of pins to finish seventh at 170.
Ryan Fees (19-18) also placed for the Panthers, finishing eighth at 145 with a 1-3 mark that included a win by pin.
Maddox Nunn (6-17), Colby Waltz (4-18), Issac Monrroy-Munez (2-16), and Jared Henderson (16-19) were all 0-2 at 113, 182, 195 and 285, respectively.
