PANORA — Playing on their home field offered little advantage for the Panorama baseball team last week, as Ogden posted a 4-2 win Wednesday before West Central Valley claimed both ends of a doubleheader Thursday, all in WCAC action.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

A trio of Ogden pitchers held Panorama to just three hits and a walk in claiming the 4-2 win. Taylor Engleen yielded two runs on two hits and walk in 1-1/3 innings, with winning pitcher Jacob Craven allowing one hit in five frames when Jade Thompson struck out one in two-thirds of a stanza on the hill. Craven struck out eight and Engleen one.

Chad Mohr had two singles and a double for the Bulldogs (19-5, 15-3), with Wes Clausen adding two hits and driving in two runs.

If Des Moines Christian defeats Van Meter Monday, Ogden and Van Meter will each win the WCAC title (the conference does not award “shared” championships), otherwise Van Meter will claim the top spot unchallenged.

Luke South, Jacob Iseminger and Dominic Walker each had singles against Ogden, with Hunter Holmes drawing a walk. Iseminger drove in both South and Steve Soreide for the Panther runs.

South was handed the loss on the hill. He surrendered four runs (one earned) on five hits while finishing with four strikeouts.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

The Wildcats (11-12, 7-10) were 7-4 winners Thursday as the visitors in the first game, then spoiled Senior Night for the Panthers (3-15, 3-13) by posting an 8-4 victory in the nightcap.

Iseminger threw five innings in game one. He surrendered five runs (only one of which was earned) on six hits and three walks in taking the loss. Dominic Walker pitched 1-1/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits, with Preston Walker allowing two hits in this two-thirds of an inning on the rubber. Dominic Walker struck out three and Preston Walker one.

Tanner Godfrey had two hits and two RBIs, Dominic Walker two hits and two runs scored and Levi Richey two hits. Holmes, Soreide and Preston Walker had one hit apiece, with Holmes recording a RBI while South scored once and drove in a run. Koltin Sloss also scored for Panorama.

Holmes allowed six runs (three earned) on nine hits and four walks in five innings on the hill in the second game. He struck out three. Dominic Walker was touched for two runs on two hits in one inning of duty, with two strikeouts to his credit.

Soreide had a single, a double and a stolen base while scoring once. while Godrey had two base hits. The pair were the lone seniors for the Panthers this season.
