The Panther girls played Des Moines Christian on Friday night and were unable to come out with the win.
Jaidyn Sellers and Tyme Boettcher led with 7 points each. Zoey Hambleton and Morgan Crees each had 5 points, and Mia Waddle scored 1 point.
“The girls played hard,” said Coach Boettcher. “It was a defensive battle. Matching up with their strength was a challenge.”
The Panthers battled but fell in the end 44-25.
The Panther girls are now 18-2 overall for the season, with one regular-season game left on Monday at Wells Fargo Arena against Ogden.
The Panthers will start their Class 2A region 7 journeys Feb. 11 with a bye and then will play the winner of Woodward Granger or West Central Valley game Feb. 14.
Boys vs. DMC 2-3-2023
The Panther boys also dropped their Friday night game to Des Moines Christian on Friday night, losing 76-44.
Braylon Dawes led with 11 points, and Braedon Draper added 10 points, with many other players contributing in the single digits.
The Panther boys are now 9-11 overall. They will play their last conference game on Monday at Wells Fargo Arena against Ogden.
