No injuries were reported.

The circumstances of the accident, which was reported about 6 p.m., are under investigation at this hour by the Perry Police Department.

A Dodge Durango SUV struck the pole on the southwest corner of the intersection and sustained front-end damage. It was not immediately clear from the scene whether other vehicles were involved in the mishap.

As much as one-quarter of the residences in Perry lost power as a result of the mishap, according to a spokesperson from the Perry Police Department. Alliant Energy was notified of the power loss, and service has been restored to most or all affected residences.
