A woman was injured Wednesday night when she was struck by an SUV as she crossed Third Street on foot in downtown Perry.
The victim was examined at the scene by the Dallas County EMS before she was transported to the Dallas County Hospital.
Witnesses said a red SUV was traveling north in the 1200 block of Third Street about 8:30 p.m. when it struck the woman as she was leaving the Assembly of God Church and crossing Third Street.
The incident is under investigation by the Perry Police Department.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s office also responded.
