Some 32 Perry-area volunteers took part in the bi-monthly LifeServe Blood Center community blood drive Friday at the Dallas County Hospital.

A total of 31 units of blood — almost one gallon — were donated, and several area donors reached personal donation milestones:

  • Denise Heinz, four gallons
  • Laura Stebbins, four gallons
  • Bruce Duff, nine gallons

“Thank you to everyone who came out to donate,” said Ashtin Hazel, territory representative for the Des Moines-based LifeServe Blood Center. “July is a tough month for blood donations. A special thanks to Dallas County Hospital for helping to sponsor and host the blood drive.”
