The parking lot of the Perry Fareway was warm between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday and redolent with the savory odor of grilled pork loin sandwiches as the grocery store sponsored a fundraiser for the Perry Booster Club.
Fareway Manager Travis Landgrebe said supplies were ready to serve 150 meals, including the sandwich, chips and a drink.
The proceeds support the Perry Booster Club, which promotes all positive things in Perry, with special emphasis on supporting youth athletics.
