The Perry Area Community Band gave its next-to-last performance of the season Thursday evening in the Band Shell in Pattee Park.

More than 30 music lovers listened attentively while the 20-member band brought its brasses and winds and drums to bear on half-a-dozen songs, including a march featuring audience participation.

The volunteer band, under the direction of Perry High School instrumental music instructor Brandon Weeks, practices prior to each performance in the Perry High School band room.

The Thursday, June 30 performance will round out the season of free concerts. Weeks promised the audience a special program of patriotic favorites.
