Ballard easily won the team race with 25 points, with Winterset a distant second at 85 while Perry was sixth of seven squads with 165 points.

Jaylene Karolus (14:03.43) and Lydia Olejncizak (14:07.92) were the first two Jayettes. They would have placed 20th and 21st, respectively, if Perry had competed with at least one other harrier. Hailey Peterson (16:21.7) and Pauline Galindo (17:10.99) also ran the course for the Jayettes.

Perry will now prepare for their state qualifying meet Oct. 19. Official assignments are yet to be set, but it is likely the Bluejays and Jayettes will compete at Atlantic.
