Perry fall sports kickoff begins Friday afternoon

Fourteen seniors will be suiting up for the Bluejays this season. Perry will host the annual Blue/White scrimmage Friday at Dewey Field at 6:15 p.m. Fans are asked to donate a sports drink (or several) in lieu of admission.

The fall sports season at Perry will receive an early boost tonight as the public receives their first look at the improvements made to Dewey Field as part of the Bluejay football Blue/White scrimmage.

South Hamilton will be on hand for a controlled scrimmage that will begin at 6:15 p.m. The activities leading to the football action will begin in the PHS gym at 4:30 p.m. when head coach John Fulton’s Jayette volleyball team plays their own intra-squad scrimmage.

A cookout will begin at 5 p.m. in the VanKirk plaza, which surrounds the new concession stand building at Dewey Field. Fans will be able to sit in the new north bleachers, which will now serve as the home side for all games and events.

The Perry Booster Club will have a membership throughout the evening, and Perry Bluejay and Jayette apparel and accessories will be for sale.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

New head coach Ryan Marzen and the Bluejay and Jayette cross country teams will be introduced to the crowd at 5:30 p.m., with the Jayette swimmers and head coach Jean Dowd introduced at 5:40 p.m. Fans will introduced to Fulton and the Perry volleyball squad at 5:50 p.m.

A performance by the Perry cheer squad will be held at 5:55 p.m., with the Perry Blue Brigade Marching Band/Drumline will entertaining the crowd at 6:05 p.m.

While no admission will be charged at Dewey Field, fans are asked to bring a sports drink (or several!) which will be used by the football team at road games.
