Firefighters with the Perry Volunteer Fire Department briefly battled a field fire west of Perry shortly before sunset Wednesday.
No injuries were reported.
A “huge field fire” was reported about 7:15 p.m. at 130th Street and Houston Avenue, but the Perry force quickly controlled the blaze.
The 15-acre tract of farmland is owned by Jerry Nicolaisen, Ronald Nicolaisen and Nicolas Nicolaisen, according to county records.
