Perry girls golfers play 18 holes at Winterset

WINTERSET — Perry sophomore Alyssa Kruger fired a runner-up medalist 47-44–91 to lead the Jayettes at the 18-hole Winterset Girls Invitational Saturday.

Kruger won a cardback for second place overall after matching Aston Carter of Creston with her 91. Overall honors went to Creston’s Madison Hance, who shot an 89.

Creston won the team title with a 376, with Chariton second at 399. DC-G (422) was third, with Perry (424) fourth, Winterset (445) fifth and Norwalk (459) sixth. Clarke also played, but did not have the four golfers required to generate a team score.

Brooke Huntington also had a strong showing for Perry with a round of 47-51–98. Madyson Hill scored with her 57-57–114 while Hannah Roberts added a 59-63–122. The Jayettes did not tabulate the cards of 66-57–123 turned in by Ellie Nielsen or the 61-67–128 tallied by Skylar Cunningham.

The Perry girls will visit Carroll Monday but then have a week off before joining the Bluejay golfers for the annual Witmer-Dunphy Coed Invitational April 25.
