TYLER, Texas — A 2-0 win Sunday over rival Navarro College lifted the Apaches of Tyler Junior College to the NJCAA Region XIV Women’s Soccer Championship.
The Apaches (17-1) won the fall season title by avenging an earlier loss to the Bulldogs of Corsicana, Tex. Tyler has won the spring season national title and finished as national runner-up in the past two years.
Former Perry all-time leading scorer Natalie Martinez is a freshman on the Apache squad. Martinez was a Second Team All-State selection as a Jayette senior. She scored 93 goals in her prep career.
