Wet weather may have stopped the Perry Homecoming parade, but it has not cancelled it.
The annual parade was, indeed, cancelled Wednesday morning, but the desires of many involved, at various levels, have rescusitated the event. The parade will be held Thursday, with a 5:30 p.m. lineup at PHS and a 6 p.m. start, both unchanged.
The route is unchanged and all post parade activities, including the cookout, guest speakers, photo and autograph sessions and apparel sales will be held as originally planned.
Students will then be bused back to PHS for the coronation ceremony, which will begin at 8 p.m. The bonfire was been cancelled.
Perry faces Webster City at Dewey Field Friday in the Homecoming game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
