DES MOINES — Perry sent 16 wrestlers to compete Saturday in the Des Moines North/Hoover junior varsity invitational.
David Muro was the lone Bluejay to emerge with a 3-0 mark. He won twice by major decision and received one win by injury default.
Byron Melendrez was 2-1 with a pair of pin fall victories, with Pablo Calderon posting a pin and a medical forfeit to also finish 2-1.
Anthony Chavez, Sergio Gonzalez, Anthony Tlaceca, Cayden Widen and Jason Zepeda were all 1-2, with Chavez winning by decision and the others by pin.
Martha Turrado, Taylor Atwell, Bryan Rivas, Jose Chavez, Leonard Jacobson and Carlos Sandoval were all unable to find their way to victory in any of their three matches, with Logan Brokaw and Alan Gomez both 0-2 for Perry.
