The Perry Kiwanis met Tuesday at the Hotel Pattee in Perry for their weekly meeting. Two programs were presented this week.

The first program was from Addison O’Conner, program representative for Up with People, a group composed of young people aged 18-29 who travel around the world performing projects and putting on shows.

Up with People is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The Kiwanis Club is an international promotional partner of Up with People, which will perform Saturday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Sisan Arena at Grand View University in Des Moines.

The weekly meeting’s second program was presented by Bob Wilson, executive director of the Perry-Area Chamber of Commerce. Wilson gave a summary of the 39th annual BRR Bike Ride to Rippey that occurred last Saturday.

Wilson also talked about this weekend’s Chocolate Walk, the Raccoon River Valley Trail and biking-related events and other upcoming events in the area.

Welcoming Bob was Marcus Carris, a member of the Perry Kiwanis since September 2001.
