The Perry Kiwanis Club at their May meeting in the Hotel Pattee hosted representatives from local Boy Scout Troop 127, and a spokesperson from the Raccoon River Valley Mid-Iowa Council of the Boy Scouts of America addressed the gathered Kiwanis.
The Scouts were welcomed and introduced by 18-year Kiwanis member Ron Harland of Perry. Scoutmaster Ray Knapp of Perry represented Perry’s Boy Scout Troop 127, which was chartered Aug. 1, 1941. Knapp spoke about some current activities of Troop 127.
Ben Chiochon, director of the Raccoon River Valley District of the Mid-Iowa Council of the Boy Scouts of America, spoke about Scouting events at the district level and opportunities for men and boys in Scouting.
