Perry defensive tackles Tyler Soll (67) and Luke Holthorf (77) stuff Iowa Falls-Alden tailback Logan Ward for a two-yard loss at Dewey Field Oct. 21.

Perry senior Tyler Soll will continue his football career in Sioux Center, where the 5-10, 290-pound lineman will join coach Joel Penner’s Dordt College Defenders.

Soll has started primarily at left guard along the offensive line during three years on the Perry varsity and also saw plenty of playing time at defensive tackle.

He had 37 tackles, two stops for negative yardage and two sacks last fall. He produced 86 total tackles — six for a loss — 2.5 sacks and a fumble recovery during his career.

Founded in 1955, Dordt College is a liberal arts school whose roots are tied to the Christian Reformed Movement. The Defenders compete at the NAIA level and are members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

The son of Brandon and Kandi Soll of Perry, Tyler intends to study Engineering at Dordt.

Greene County’s Trey Tucker is sandwiched by Perry’s Adan Medina (5) and Tyler Soll (67) Oct. 14 in Jefferson.
