David Sheffer, one of the owners of the Tin Pig restaurant, was the guest speaker at the Feb. 14 meeting of the Perry Lions Club.
Sheffer told the members of the club about the problems that his family encountered in trying to reopen their restaurant after the derecho wind storm in August 2020. They had issues with the insurance company to get funds needed to repair the building.
They currently face problems in getting help to serve customers and getting their needed food supplies at a reasonable cost. Sheffer gave examples of particular items and how much the prices have increased in one year.
He said that his family was amazed by the encouraging support the Perry community gave to his family. They are planning a reopening in the very near future.
